This white wax is designed to work its way into the grain of the wood, highlighting its natural characteristics and giving a sense of depth and texture to the surface. This creates an interesting 'limed' or 'patinated' look, which is very effective on many mouldings, especially ash and ayous/obeche. dresser: The dresser was much darker and had a thicker veneer, so the stain was harder to take off and the outcome is more rustic.

The Best way to open the grain of the wood is by using a Liberon Bronze Liming Brush, always work in the direction of the grain and use a fair amount of pressure to lift the pores. After you have finished opening the grain, make sure you wear rubber gloves and use ultra-fine Liberon steel wool (0000) to apply the Liberon Liming wax. You may now need to apply another fine coat of stripper to wet the area again and then use a scraper to remove the first layer. Use a clean cotton cloth or brush to apply wax in a thin layer, working into recesses of carved details or surface imperfections.
